LIRRC Championship Series
The
Long Island Road Runners Club is instituting its first ever Championship Race
Series. Scoring will be based on Cross Country Scoring. The first runner
in each age division to finish scores one point, second place two
points; third place three point; and so on. All of the competing runners
who finish are ranked and scored in this manner. The final score is then
determined by totaling the points, lowest total is declared
the winner. Awards
in the form of trophies, free LIRRC membership, and
LIRRC clothing will be awarded to each winner in three catergories,
male/female Open, Masters and Senior Masters. In order to win an award,
runners have to compete in at least three of the below events, and must be members
of the LIRRC.

2009 - 5 Miles March 29, 2009 - Jim & Herb 10K July 1, 2009 - 5K September
13, 2009 - 4 Miles November 29, 2009 - 8K Duck Trot
We hold our races in front of the Main
Field House, which is between Parking Lots 1 and 2. If you
are not familiar with Eisenhower Park, it is located in East Meadow with
main entrances on Hempstead Turnpike and Stewart Avenue. Parking Lot 2 is
the first lot when you enter from the Hempstead Turnpike entrance and the
last lot if you enter from the Stewart Avenue entrance. Parking Lot 1 is
on Merrick Avenue, just north of Hempstead Turnpike.
There are a
variety of ways to get to Eisenhower Park by car. Please use Yahoo Maps,
Google Maps or other mapping site and fill in 1878 Hempstead Tpke., East
Meadow, NY as your destination,
which is the address closest to the main entrance to the park on Hempstead
Tpke.
